Interpretive Sign at Naruko Onsen

In late February, I had the opportunity to be involved in the creation of an interpretation signboard for Naruko Onsen. Since the summer of 2024, I have been conducting research in Naruko with the local staff—climbing mountains, walking through the town, and exploring every part of the Naruko Onsen area. Although I’ve been visiting Naruko since my twenties, this research allowed me to discover many new aspects and charms, deepening my appreciation and enjoyment of the area even further. The interpretation signboard summarizes the natural environment and the formation of the hot springs in Naruko Onsen. I hope this project provides a chance for first-time visitors and younger generations to learn more about Naruko Onsen and develop an interest in the area.
