Hanaikada

2024

『花』 "Hana" 『筏』"Ikada" In Japan, cherry blossoms are often depicted as symbols of the arrival of spring. And "Hana" means flower in Japanese, while "Ikada" means raft. When cherry blossoms bloom by the side of rivers or ponds and scatter, the water surface is covered with cherry blossom petals, creating a beautiful scene filled with cherry blossom color. This state is expressed as "Hanaikada." However, it's not something you can see everywhere in Japan. One famous place to see flower rafts is Hirosaki. If you're interested, searching for "Hirosaki Japan hanaikada" may show you images of the actual scene.
