This painting is like being wrapped in warm, sweet skin. I drew this picture to dedicate to my beloved bookstore. Reiko Miyake, author of "Life without a Bookstore" (Kobunsha Publishing Co., Ltd.) ✴︎ I had a meeting with Reiko Miyake, the author of this book, asking her what kind of cover she would like. Our common language, full of love for bookstores, is "orange bookstore. The "Orange Bookstore" in Kumamoto Prefecture, which appears at the end of this book, is a bookstore that only sells books for people with small voices. It has been 20 years since I met the owner of "Orange Bookstore. I was able to draw a picture like a love letter and decorate the cover of a book! = Introduction to this magazine = Although it has long been said that the publishing industry is in a recession, the medium of "books" has by no means become unnecessary. However, the habit of ordering books from online bookstores has taken root in our lives, and the places where we "buy" books have changed dramatically. Small bookstores in shopping arcades are no longer the norm. Still, there are owners who are opening new "bookstores. Why bookstores now? From Hokkaido to Kyushu. A nonfiction book that visits up-and-coming bookstores throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Kyushu.
