Illustration for “Business Card Battle for Working People” by science fiction writer Kyo Hasegawa, published in the October 2024 issue of Novel Subaru. The story of employment in the near future, where the exchange of business cards has become a game, accelerates from an anecdote that seems to happen just a little bit in the future to a series of unexpected developments. In the end, a character reminiscent of Elon Musk descends from the heavens. I had to paint a picture with a more gory texture than usual, so I dropped in “Amigos Illustration,” a so-called AI that hand-painted a world line in watercolor that looked like it had been generated by a dumb AI. The editor of the “Virtual AI Illustration” was very pleased with my work!
